Wizkid to release ‘Sounds From The Other Side’ in July

Wizkid has said that his first project under RCA Records will be released on July 7.

The singer disclosed this to US online platform, Revolt TV on Tuesday.

Entitled ‘Sounds From The Other Side’, it is not yet known whether it will be an album project or a mixtape.

Drake, Diplo, Trey Songz, and Chris Brown are some of the international stars expected to guest-feature on the project.

“Afrobeat is getting a lot of attention right now. People are really loving the sound,” said Wizkid. “Trying to fuse the sounds with artistes from out here with producers from back home.”

“I’m just making authentic good music. I feel like it is time for me to make some crazy next level music,” he added.

The singer recently won three awards at the Billboard Music Awards for his contribution to Drake’s ‘One Dance’.

‘Come Closer’, his hit single, which also features Drake, has been viewed over 15 million times since its release.

Born Ayo Balogun, the Nigerian singer in March signed a multi-album worldwide deal with RCA Records, under Sony Music International.

Wizkid who was previously signed to Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment has released two albums: 2011’s Superstar and 2014’s Ayo.

Apart from ‘Come Closer’, Wizkid has released other singles: ‘Sweet Love’ and ‘Daddy Yo’ in 2017.
