Ambode's wife committed sacrilege and should apologise' ' African church bishop

What relationship exists between The African Church and the Chapel of Christ the Light?
The chapel belongs to the Lagos State Government , but it is being managed by the entire Christian body and, specifically, the various blocs that form the Christian Association of Nigeria.
In CAN, there are five blocs. The African Church belongs to the Christian Council of Nigeria, which is one of the blocs. The position of the Presiding Chaplain of the Chapel is rotated among the blocs to avoid any disharmony in the body of Christ. So, it is our turn to produce the Presiding Chaplain.
Venerable Taiwo, who is from this (Ikeja) diocese, was the chaplain for three years and after the three years he applied to become the presiding chaplain. He was interviewed and discovered to be qualified. He was subsequently employed as the Presiding Chaplain.
He started in January 2016, and was supposed to spend three years, but this incident happened. His predecessor came from the ECWA bloc of CAN and it was when his predecessor finished his tenure that he was appointed.
What is the process of appointing chaplains?
When the position becomes vacant, it will be published in the newspapers. Normally, applications will be invited from everybody, but in the end it will follow the usual order of rotation. So, when everybody applies, there will be a panel that will interview the applicants and the qualified person will be employed.
What do you know about the events that culminated in the sack of Taiwo?
It was on Monday, May 15, that Venerable Taiwo called me that there was a development in the chapel and that he was coming to see me. He came and showed me the sack letter, saying that his appointment had been terminated.
However, before now, there have been some issues in the chapel. He said the governor’s wife called him and the chaplain, who was his assistant, to see her. The two of them went there and they had a good interaction. There was no problem. That (incident) happened in the first week of May.
He said some members of the governing council then called him to know why he went to the First Lady’s office and he explained to them that he and his assistant were invited. The council then told him he shouldn’t have gone to see her and that he should have allowed them to resolve any issue. The council then asked him and his assistant to write an apology letter, which they did. The governing council said the letter was to assuage the First Lady because she felt she was being challenged and accused of fraternising with a former presiding chaplain. According to Venerable Taiwo, that was the only encounter they had before the Monday 15th sack letter came.
But are you aware that he got some queries as the government alleged? Has he ever told you he was queried at anytime for any offence?
I asked him specifically if he had been receiving queries from the officials of the chapel or the government, but he said it has never happened.
I know Taiwo. He is a very responsible minister of God; very knowledgeable, humble and disciplined. I have worshiped at that chapel a few times myself. And I made personal investigations about him. Even the members of the chapel are saddened by this development. If you know about what they have been doing since this incident happened, you will know venerable Taiwo is a man everybody respects.
Like what?
They accommodated him and furnished the place just to make him comfortable. They have also written to the government to rescind the decision. He is not a wayward person.
A lot of Nigerians are outraged about what happened. Do you think that this anger is justified?
It is highly justified. Even as a church, we are furious with the government. But we are trying to approach the issue from different angles. One is to appeal to the government, if reasoning will prevail. The governor himself and his wife can rescind the order. The head of the church, His Eminence, Primate Emmanuel Josiah, has written to the governor’s office. He has been asked to book an appointment with the First Lady. We are aware that the letter written to the First Lady is not being attended to; she is not even ready to make herself available.
Has the church received any formal complaint against the Venerable?
That is where as a church we are angry with the government. If he is a serial offender as alleged, nothing stops them from reporting him to the church, that the person you seconded to the office here has a bad attitude and we would have called him to order. We have many others that we could have sent to the chapel. But we are very sure of him that was why we sent him. The government failed to inform us and for government now to have taken such a drastic step and tell him to leave (his official apartment) within 24 hours leaves much to be desired.
You mean the 24-hour ultimatum was truly stated in the sack letter?
I was here (in my office) when he (Venerable Taiwo) called me that they asked him to pack out within 24 hours and that he was even told that the governor’s wife would not like to hear that he was still being seen around. Then we started wondering what could have happened? Somebody that has a wife and kids, and you asked him to go within 24 hours? Where do you expect him to go?
This is very ungodly! It is a sacrilege for someone who happens to be a Christian. Even when Fashola (former Lagos State Governor) was there, despite being a Muslim, he never took such a decision. Now that the governor (Ambode) is a Christian, which we all fought for, he is the one taking ungodly decisions. We have written letters to CAN and CCN, including the Methodist Church where the Venerable Taiwo’s assistant came from, that if Mrs. Ambode, is trying to cause divide and rule among the Christians, she should go ahead. We are not afraid of anything.
We understand that Mrs. Ambode is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, let her go and ask the RCCG Pastor, Enoch Adeboye, whether what she did was the right thing to do to a minister of God. It is ungodly and very sad.
When the church heard that the sack was about anointing oil, what was the general reaction of the church?
Anointing oil is a personal thing. Nobody has the right or power to force anybody to take anointing oil. It is even ungodly to say a worshipper should take it by force. Even Holy Communion is voluntary; there is no protocol when it comes to that. When you are in the House of God, rich or poor, old or young, you are all equal before God. If Ambode will recall, anytime she comes for service, she will be the one to sit in the front and she has the right and privilege of going to the stage first if she is interested.
What did the Venerable tell you happened at the service that day?
I have tried to confirm from Taiwo what really happened on that Sunday and he said the service held as usual. There were three of them who stood to minister the anointing oil and few of them who wished to receive the oil came forward. Ambode’s wife later joined the queue. And she even participated in the thanksgiving service.
But why was she angry that day? The church members said she left in annoyance.
From my findings, her point of annoyance was that she was not recognised. She was not duly recognised and I asked that at what point was she expecting that recognition? I was told that Venerable Taiwo mounted the pulpit to deliver the sermon, she expected him to recognise and welcome her to the service. To some extent, I agree with her because the Bible says we should give honour to whom it is due.
Was that enough for a sacking?
That did not call for a sacking. The procedure they adopted was ungodly. If she felt offended because of recognition, there is a procedure. She could have called the chapel members and the management body and let them query him and ask why he didn’t recognise the governor’s wife. And then the management body would make their recommendation to the governing council. And the council will then forward their decision to the government. That is the way it should be done. But they didn’t do it.
Whatsoever it is, our own point is that the right procedure was not followed. Government has the right to employ and the right to sack. But if you are now sacking and asking the person to leave within 24 hours, that is too much.
As a church, we are demanding apology from the governor and the government of Lagos State. We demanded that we wanted a Christian governor. We came out en masse and supported the political ambition of Ambode. We told our members to go out and vote for him. Unfortunately, people have started mocking us.
What has happened is a sacrilege and Mr. Ambode should know that. We have been appreciating his efforts in Lagos. Why will he allow himself to get involved in such a trivial issue that can spoil his public image? You are the governor and the image of Lagos State and the father of all. When any report comes to you, you should dissect that report and know what steps and action to take.
Has CAN tried to mediate in this matter?
Yes, CAN and CCN have been trying to do some underground work to ensure that the matter did not get to this level. But now that it has got to this point, we have served them letters and I am sure they know what to do.
Will the church query the Venerable over the incident?
Yes, however, it might not be in the form of query. The church will do its findings over his activities over there and we will forward out findings to the centre. But so far from our findings, we have not found any fault in him. Some of the elders and chapel leaders are also angry over the sacking. They were not informed. He has not done anything to warrant what happened.
What has been the experience of the pastors of the church with Mrs. Ambode and former first ladies in Lagos State?
While I will not want to be too personal, as a church, we are very much at home with Dame Abimbola Fashola than with Mrs. Bolanle Ambode. Mrs. Fashola is a mother, very humble, knowledgeable and mature. She has a way of dealing with men, women, young, old, men of God of different cadres and she knows how to appreciate people. Many of these attributes are somehow lacking in Mrs Ambode. Maybe this is because of her tender age; she needs to acquire more experience.
What is the state of the Venerable and his family now?
I want to thank the members of the Chapel of Christ the Light. They have been very fantastic. They accommodated him and furnished the place he is staying now. His car got burnt where he parked it. If a car is parked in a government house and that car got burnt in the middle of the night like 2am, there is foul play. Even that alone, if government is very fair, they were supposed to set up a panel to investigate it. But that did not happen.
When this incident happened, it was these members that bought him another car so that he would not feel the impact of what happened. Even as a church, we are making plans to ensure he is not stranded.
He will not be without a ministry. We are going to give him a station very soon, if he is not called back. We just don’t want to rush it.
What will the church do if the government recalls him?
If government calls him back before he resumes at his new station, then we will need to sit down with them because this is a complete embarrassment to the church. Ambode, his wife, the state government, embarrassed and insulted the African Church. We must sort things out and give them our stand.
They may decide to recall him because of the tension that has arisen over the incident only to do something worse. These politicians cannot be predicted. Any politician that does not have the fear of God cannot be trusted. The embarrassment they caused us has never happened to any other denomination. Even during the military era this can never happen.
Why do you think some government officials don’t respect pastors and priests?
They lack the fear of God. They are conscious of position and money and with this, the society cannot move forward. Also, our religious leaders have messed themselves up because of money. They are patronising the politicians and they are making them to believe that their anointing is not real.
But I believe that any politician, who has the fear of God in him, even if any minister misbehaves, you are not the one to judge him. You should ensure you do your part. If Ambode or his wife knows the tenets of Christianity, they will not deal with Venerable Taiwo like that. They will know that this is a man of God.
They should have said have written to us, saying they don’t want to embarrass the church and we as a church would have handled it. We have a lot of other ministers across the state and the country. But they didn’t do that because there is no fear of God in them. They are not ready to submit to the Will and Word of God. Ego is killing us.
If not ego, why should Mrs. Ambode feel embarrassed that she was not called first to receive the anointing? But when ego takes the better part of any individual, that person will misbehave and if you tell him or her the truth, he or she will not agree.

While Nigerians slept, two American pop stars shamelessly stole Phyno’s song as theirs – Nigerian Entertainment Today

Is it a coincidence that the duo released the same song with the same title when a Nigerian star had done it six months before?

Phyno’s ‘The Playmaker’ album. ‘I’m A Fan’ is listed as track 13.

As Nigerian songs are popping all over the world, it was only a matter of time before foreigners started to imitate our sound. But we didn’t expect it to be so blatantly done.

On Phyno‘s last album The Playmaker, he featured Mr Eazi and Decarlo on a song called ‘I’m A Fan’. With hits like ‘Fada Fada’ and ‘Pino Pino’, it is not one of the most popular tracks on the album but it’s not a bad song at all. It has a very nice wave that makes it soothing.

That album came out six months ago.

Fast forward to May 2016, American pop singer Pia Mia released a song with struggle R&B star Jeremih. The title? ‘I’m A Fan’.

It sounded like a coincidence so we decided to take a listen. Brothers and sisters, we never esperredit: it’s a glaring ripoff of Phyno’s song!

It’s 2017 and nothing is a secret – especially with Nigerians who practically know everything. It took only a few weeks before the General Pype version of Davido‘s ‘Gbagbe Oshi’ came out and fans were made to understand that it was bought and recorded by Davido. That’s fair.

But these two American stars are not connected to Phyno by any means (at least not that we know of as at now) and the song is not a cover. It’s an official single released by her record label.

What’s more, she’s promoting it seriously.

We have reached out to Phyno’s management to find out if there is any type of collaboration between him and Pia Mia. They have not responded to our queries at press time.

Listen here and compare the two songs.

Here’s Phyno’s I’m A Fan that, released in Novemeber 2016.

Here’s Pia Mia’s I’m A Fan, released in May 2017.

Nollywood deaths: Actor demands life insurance for film practitioners

Veteran actor, Dadene Richard-Oguntimeyin, has called for life assurance policies for Nollywood actors.

Richard-Oguntimeyin told NAN that this was necessary because of the unforeseen circumstances that might occur while practising their profession or after retirement.

He appealed to theatre associations, groups and the government to establish life assurance policies for Nollywood actors.

“Both the government, associations and several theatre groups have their parts to play in bringing this demand to reality,” he said.

“All associations should provide life assurance policies for their members. Government should also support and assist in actualising such policies.

“This is necessary because most practitioners when retired do not have anything to fall back on.”

He said that there had not been any policy like that in the movie industry in the past.

“The policy will cater for the family members of actors after their death and also take care of the retirees.”

Richard-Oguntimeyin, popularly called Don Richard, prayed to God to end the frequent death of practitioners in the movie industry.

“Many had passed on to eternity in the last few months and in the last few years. We cannot question God for that.

“It is sad to hear the death of colleagues in the industry like Moji Olaiya, Olumide Bakare and others that died recently. I pray that God will forgive them their shortcomings,” he said.

Consider Yourself Very Lucky if You Don’t Have One of These 5 Vaginal Disorders

Your lady parts will cry after reading this
Your v**ina is a pretty low-maintenance body part (it cleans itself, after all). But for some women, it can be a major pain—literally. Numbers vary, but a small percentage of otherwise healthy women deal with rare but very real vaginal conditions that cause excruciating discomfort that makes having s*x—and even day-to-day activities like sitting down—extremely difficult. And the worst part is, doctors don’t always know what causes them, which means treatment can be spotty or nonexistent. Here are five down-there disorders that make life difficult for some unlucky ladies.

This is typically what happens when you have vaginismus, a mysterious disorder characterized by involuntary tightening of the pelvic floor muscles that control the v**ina, says Teresa Hoffman, M.D., an ob-gyn at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. The clenched muscles can be uncomfortable or painful, even triggering spasms. “What causes it isn’t clear, but there may be a psychological component to it, such as anxiety or past s*xual abuse,” says Hoffman. The good news is, vaginismus can be treated. One option involves Kegel exercises: tightening and then releasing the pelvic floor muscles over time to help you gain control over them. Another treatment option is to insert slender plastic dilators you get from your doctor into the v**ina regularly to relax the pelvic floor muscles.

Women with vulvodynia experience chronic pain at the opening of the v**ina. We’re not just talking about a dull ache; the pain is often described as being an intense burning sensation, says Hoffman. The worst part is, it’s unclear what’s behind it. “Glands at the opening of the v**ina become inflamed for some reason, making it too painful to have s*x,” says Hoffman. Even activities like walking or sitting can be excruciating. Since the cause is unknown (it’s not related to STDs or other infections), treatment generally involves lessening the symptoms. That can mean going on antidepressants or other meds or having surgery to excise the inflamed areas, says Hoffman.

Add lichen sclerosus to the long list of side effects of perimenopause, that life stage in your mid- to late-40s when production of s*x hormones such as estrogen begins to wind down. “Lower estrogen levels can result in the formation of thick white plaques on the skin of and around the v**ina,” says Hoffman. “It’s very itchy; it’s like eczema of the v**ina.” Besides the pigment change, vaginal tissue affected by lichen sclerosus becomes thinner, which can also lead to discomfort and irritation. In severe cases, it can even make s*x impossible. Luckily, lichen sclerosus can be treated with steroids or topical estrogen, says Hoffman, but it needs to be seen by your gyno so she can properly diagnose it.
The hymen—the ring of tissue at the entrance to the v**ina—normally has a small hole in it, to allow menstrual blood and other fluid to escape. But some girls are born with an imperforate hymen, meaning this membrane totally blocks off the opening of the v**ina, says Hoffman. “It’s usually diagnosed in teenagers after menstruation begins: The blood from a girl’s first periods has no way of leaving her v**ina, so it builds up inside, causing a lot of pain,” says Hoffman. Once diagnosed, the hymen is corrected via a relatively minor surgical procedure, and it won’t affect a girl’s ability to have s*x or get pregnant in the future.
Feeling an egg-size lump on your labia would be pretty freaky, right? That’s what can happen if you develop a cyst in the Bartholin’s gland in your v**ina. Here’s the lowdown: Each side of your outer labia contains a Bartholin’s gland, a tiny organ that exists to lubricate the outer end of the v**ina. Thing is, it’s not uncommon for one of the Bartholin’s gland ducts to become clogged. Fluid builds up inside the duct, triggering a lump that can range in size from a pea to a marble, says Hoffman. Crazy as that sounds, the real problem happens when the duct becomes infected, turning into an absess. You’ll know this is the case because the lump will feel tender and painful, and you may even develop chills and a fever. “If that duct forms a cyst, it might be uncomfortable but not painful,” says gynecologist Laurie Streicher, M.D., the author of s*x Rx: Hormones, Health, and Your Best s*x Ever. “An absess, on the other hand, is horribly painful. Patients come in [to the doctor’s office] waddling like a duck, saying, ‘You’ve got to see me right now.'”
Should this happen to you, you need to hit your gyno’s office to have it drained, or the abscess will just get worse. “Antibiotics are needed too, to keep the infection from coming back,” says Hoffman. Cysts and absesses can recur in women who’ve had them before. “Unless you remove the gland, it can come back,” says Streicher, who explains that that’s really only an option for women who keep having absesses form (you won’t notice anything different once you heal from surgery, but it is a painful procedure). And although there are no preventative measures you can take to prevent cysts, Streicher says that for the majority of women she’s treated for an absess, she’s drained it once and not seen recurring issues afterward.

17 Problems Only Women With Big b**bs Understand

b**bs bigger than a B cup can come with some unpleasant consequences.
1. You have a better shot at winning the lottery than finding a button-down shirt that doesn’t gap.

2. Your b**bs try to escape any time you bend over.

3. Department stores don’t have your bra size in stock. Like, ever.

4. Since stores don’t carry your size, you have to order all your bras online—and said bras are usually expensive, enormous, and hideous.

5. You look kind of slutty in anything fitted.

6. But you look kind of fat in anything that doesn’t have a waist.

7. You can’t really go braless, not even in bed.

8. Most workouts require multiple sports bras.

9. Sideboob is not a trendy fashion choice, it’s a way of life.

10. Like unicorns and Camelot, direct eye contact is mythical.

11. When bras that work for other women meet your b**bs, they somehow become about as supportive as Saran Wrap.

12. And of course your boyfriend is an a*s man.

13. You’re seriously concerned about your b**bs getting even bigger when it’s time to breastfeed (even though you’re single and have no plans to get pregnant any time soon).

14. Speaking of babies…they instinctively go for your goods.

15. Smaller-breasted women think you have it made and secretly hate you.

16. Good posture makes you look aggressive and plastic.

17. No matter what the rest of your body looks like, you are automatically labeled curvy. But hey, at least you’re in pretty good company

Read full story about a woman who sold her children for money

A woman was arrested by an Area M Police Command, Idimu, Lagos for allegedly selling four out of her five children to different buyers without the knowledge of her husband.

The woman simply identified as Vicky was arrested following a petition by her husband to the Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Austines Akika.

Police sources said the suspect was selling the children one after the other and successfully sold four, leaving out only one, PM express reported.

It was learnt that she lied to her husband that she took the kids to their relation until the husband later discovered she has sold them.

Her strange commercial activity was exposed after she sold the last child for N400,000 and her husband was tipped by a neighbour.

The husband reported to the police and she was arrested and detained at the Command cell.

She was said to have already confessed to the police while efforts were already being made to rescue the children and arrest the buyers.

It was reported that the woman was able to carry out the illegal sales without her husband’s knowledge because the husband, who rented an apartment in Idimu area of Alimosho local government, works outside Lagos, where he stays during the week and returns home weekend or monthly.

It was gathered that the woman told her husband that she took the kids to her relatives to cover her tracks.

The woman is still in detention while the police are carrying out investigations to locate the whereabouts of the children.

Trump Pushes World Leader Out of His Way So That He Can Be Snapped in the Front Row at NATO Summit (Photos/Video)

A video of US President Donald Trump shoving his way past world leaders at the NATO Summit so he can be in front has left many people talking on social media.

President Donald Trump pushed aside a NATO Leader just he could stay in front

U.S. President Donald Trump muscled himself to the front of the world stage in Brussels on Thursday, firmly pushing aside the leader of soon-to-be member Montenegro at a NATO summit.

Footage showing the leaders caught Trump pushing his way past Prime Minister Dusko Markovic, then confidently adjusting his suit as he emerged in the front of the group, closer to NATO head Jens Stoltenberg.

Video of the incident went viral and came as Trump delivered a tough message to NATO allies to dramatically increase their defense spending to ease financial burden to the United States.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer, asked about Trump moving past Markovic, said he had not seen the video but assumed the U.S. president was moving to his designated spot.

The NATO mission of Montenegro, which is joining the Western military alliance against stiff opposition from Russia, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The small Balkan country will formally become NATO's 29th state in June but Markovic joined the Brussels summit, Trump's first, and a ceremonial opening of the alliance's new headquarters.

During the leaders' joint photo shoot in the new building, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau encouraged his counterparts to wave for the cameras. Some did as Trudeau requested, but Trump did not raise his arm.

Trump smiled briefly, but otherwise kept a serious expression on his face for the brief session.
