Commotion as Collapsing Wall Kills Two Old Women Pounding Fufu (Photo)

One of the women on the floor after she died

Two family members have died after a mud wall weakened by rains collapsed on them last Sunday at Assin Akropong in the Central region of Ghana, according to a report by MyJoy.

The victims, 86-year old Yaa Nimo died instantly while 78-year old Yaa Antaa other succumbed following an unconscious spell. Torrential rains have been regular in Assin Akronpong as a major rainy season begins. The building is largely mud on all four sides and an asbestos roofing sheet.

It is believed that consistent rain fall weakened the structure is a remote cause of the tragedy. But the vigorous physical exercise of fufu pounding has not been ruled out as an immediate trigger.

Yaa Nimo and Yaan Antaa had returned from church last Sunday afternoon and decided to prepare the week-end delicacy.

The two began the exercise behind the wall of the building with suspicious physical integrity. Blood  splattered on to the mortar containing the progressive formation of fufu.

The mortar became a mixture of mud, blood and fufu in its progressive state. While Yaa Antaa writhed on the floor until she fell unconscious. her relative was motionless at the unrestrained impact of the mud walls.

Curiosity drew residents in the community to the scene. The body was covered with a cloth awaiting the police. Police are concluding a report on the incident while the bodies of the two have been deposited at the morgue. Details of the identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.

Pregnant Rihanna steps out in distress jeans, and boyfriend T.shirt (See photos)

It’s the uniform of choice for many an office worker.  And Rihanna gave the smart-casual look her own twist on Saturday night in an off the shoulder shirt. The 29-year-old flaunted her shoulders by unbuttoning her over-sized blue and white stri*ped shirt featuring over-sized cuffs.

She paired the look with loose-fit distressed jeans, and stiletto-heeled white boots.  The singer didn’t look to excited ahead of her night out in Manhattan, as she rocked her trademark pout, emphasized by a deep scarlet lippy.
Her burly minder meanwhile was enjoying the perks of working for the Fenty designer as he strode beside her in some Puma footwear. On Tuesday the singer was spotted in the same city in a similar look, this time wearing a heavy denim coat of both shoulders.

Sometimes in life, what you are searching for will be right behind you. Judge nothing, you will be happy; Forgive everything, you will be happier; Love everything, you will be happiest.

Donald Trump calls leaks 'fabricated lies' as he returns to mounting crisis over Jared Kushner's alleged Russia links

Donald Trump has labelled leaks about the interactions of his son-in-law with Russia “fabricated lies”, as he returned to Washington to confront a mounting political crisis.
As Mr Trump was set to meet his own criminal defence lawyer, and his closest aides were setting up a “war room” to tackle the latest fallout over his campaign’s alleged links to Russia , the President turned his focus to one of his favourite targets – the media.
“Just returned from Europe. Trip was a great success for America. Hard work but big results,” he said on Twitter. “It is my opinion that many of the leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the Fake News media.”

Mr Trump returned on Saturday night from a nine-day foreign trip, his first as President. Yet while Mr Trump was largely able, while he was overseas, to keep away from the controversy over his campaign's alleged collusion with Moscow to influence the 2016 election, once he set foot back in Washington it was there to engulf him.
The latest developments focus on Jared Kushner, his senior adviser and husband of his eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump. Last week, it was confirmed the 36-year-old, who had been at the helm of Mr Trump’s campaign, was the focus of the FBI’s ongoing investigation.
It was then reported that, in what at least would have been an act of no small naivety, Mr Kushner had last year asked the Russian ambassador to the US to establish a secret backchannel using Russia’s communication systems to enable the Trump transition team to talk to Moscow.
The request was reportedly made at a meeting at Trump Tower, and the communications were intercepted by US intelligence and then leaked to The
Washington Post . There is said to be mounting talk that Mr Kushner may have to step aside from his role.
Reports said Mr Kushner, one of the few people Mr Trump appears to trust without question, had at least three previously undisclosed contacts with the Russian ambassador to the United States during and after the 2016 presidential campaign.
Christina Greer, associate professor of political science at Fordham University in New York, told The Independent the President was now facing a genuine dilemma. "We've seen in the past how quickly he is to cut people loose when he needs to," she said. "But this situation needs to be much more carefully thought through. This is not someone he just met a few months ago, or a few years ago. This is family."
Democrats and critics of Mr Trump have seized on the revelations and said they are more evidence that the New York tycoon was trampling on democratic traditions.
Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said he wanted Mr Kushner to give evidence before members of Congress. He also said Mr Kushner’s security clearance ought to be be looked at.
“I do think there ought to be a review of his security clearance to find out whether he was truthful, whether he was candid. If not, then there’s no way he can maintain that kind of a clearance,” Mr Schiff told ABC.
The same channel said there was growing discussion within the White House as to whether Mr Kushner may have to take a leave of absence from his duties, until the controversy is resolved one way or another.
Sec. Kelly calls back-channels "normal...and acceptable": "It's not a bad thing to have multiple communications lines to any government."

Mr Kushner, through his lawyer, has offered to cooperate with such investigations but has otherwise maintained a low profile since returning from the President’s trip several days early.
Republicans have hit back. John Kelly, the Secretary of Homeland Security, said he thought Mr Kushner’s request to Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak was both “normal” and “appropriate”.
“Anytime you can communicate with people, especially organisations who are not particularly friendly to us, it’s a good thing,” he said. “Whatever the communication is, it comes back to the government and is shared.”
Republican Senator Lindsay Graham said he did not “trust this story as far as I can throw it”.
“We’re chasing our tails, as a nation, when it comes to the Russians. I don’t know who leaked this supposed conversation,” he told CNN. “But just think about it this way. You’ve got the ambassador to Russia reporting back, on an open channel, ‘Hey, Jared Kushner’s gonna move into the embassy’.
“I think it makes no sense that the Russian ambassador would report back to Moscow on a channel that he most likely knows we’re monitoring.”
Reports suggest Mr Trump is scheduled to meet soon with a hard-hitting New York lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, whom he has retained to help deal with the FBI investigation. Mr Kasowitz has known Mr Trump for decades and represented him in numerous cases, including his divorce records, and allegations about Trump University.
Mr Kasowitz recently acted on behalf of Bill O’Reilly, the Fox News anchor who was forced to resign amid allegations of sexual harassment. Mr O’Reilly denied the claims.

14 Struggles Only Women with Small b**bs Understand

Girls with teeny ta-tas might be able to pull off a plunging neckline without looking boobilicious and don’t have to wear multiple sports bras, but it’s not all spaghetti straps and sunshine. If your bra size is the same as the type of batteries in your remote control, we feel you. Read on for 14 problems you and your bee stings can totally relate to.
1. In high school, you bought the smallest bra available in Victoria’s Secret—and it was still too big. Shout out to your entire graduating class! They probably saw your bosoms at least once since your pair couldn’t fill the whole cup.
2. Speaking of high school, your 18-year-old self was waiting for the day her pair would arrive, but… A decade later, they seemed to have gotten lost in the mail.
3. You’ve seriously considered bizarre b00b-growing methods. The suction cup bra, chest-enhancing pills, straight-up estrogen supplements. You’ve pondered them all and maybe even sampled a few.
4. Wearing your “hello, fellas” push-up bra on a first date feels a little like a trick. Sure, they look great now…but when the boulder holder comes off for the first time, well, here’s to hoping he’s an a*s guy.
5. Swimsuit shopping sucks twice as much. Everyone hates shopping for a suit, but when your b**bs are fun-sized, you have to strike more poses than Kendall Jenner in the dressing room to ensure you don’t flash a nip at the pool.
6. And once you get to the pool, 15-year-old boys hit on you. It’s not their fault you look like you could star in a Disney Channel sitcom.
7. You’re told that it’s still possible that your girls will grow. But that’s only likely to happen after you get knocked up. Thanks, mom.
8. The s*x move that involves putting a man-hood between your b**bs is a pipe dream. There’s no way in hell that’s ever going to be a possibility for you. Maybe that’s for the best, though?
9. The “scoop” isn’t just a trick to make your b**bs look perkier. It’s a way of life.
10. You Can’t. Stop. Staring. At other women’s b**bs. You may have even tried to feel a girl up. #BoobGoals.
11. Buying lingerie is borderline impossible. Not surprisingly, kinky costumes don’t typically come small enough for a child to wear.
12. You’re singlehandedly keeping your tailor in business. “Yep, I’ll have the usual. Take three inches in on both sides. Thanks,” says you every time you buy a dress.
13. You’re genuinely surprised when you catch a glimpse of yourself with cleavage. It’s so exciting, you’re tempted to comment “Woo! Cleavage!” on the Facebook photo you’re tagged in.
14. You’ve perfected the faux cleavage b00b squeeze. Just bring those arms a couple of inches in, and bam, you’ve got the goods—for about 30 seconds.

Adsense Now Allows Placement of 320x250 Ad Banner Above The Fold On Mobile Pages

After publishing how I modify my Google Adsense responsive ad code to display 320x250 ad banner above fold (visible part of the screen without scrolling down the page) on mobile webpages, I've received some emails from some bloggers, asking me if such modification no longer violates Adsense policy.

Well, it no longer does. Google no longer disallows 300x250 ad unit from being placed above the fold on mobile web pages. This was announced in a blog post earlier this month even before announcing that google ads will now be disabled on pages instead of entire websites.

Below in an excerpt from the blog post:

"We recognize the frustration around limitations we’ve placed on this sized unit on mobile webpages, and starting May 2, 2017 we will no longer disallow this ad unit from being placed above the fold on mobile web pages.  After careful review, we've determined that when 300x250 ads are implemented above the fold in a user-friendly way, the ads do not annoy, distract, or result in ad performance issues.

With the removal of this restriction, you still must be vigilant to ensure that their mobile site layouts do not cause ads to push the page content below the fold in such a way that may lead to accidental clicks. To ensure a good user experience, we still recommend the site content should be clear and accessible above the fold."

With this update, you can now place 300x250 ad unit above fold but ensure the placement won't cause accidental clicks.

The Old Warning reads:

Publishers should ensure that their mobile site layouts do not cause ads to push the page content below the fold. For this reason, we don’t allow 300×250 ad units (or larger) above the fold on mobile as this layout requires the user to scroll down to view site content. To ensure a good user experience, the site content should be clear and accessible above the fold. We would therefore encourage publishers to implement smaller ad units for above the fold placements on mobile site.

5 Natural Remedies for Unrelenting Mouth Odour

Everyone’s breath kicks up once in a while. It could be because you just woke up, or because you have not eaten all day. Other times it is because you consumed something that made your breath sour, such as cigarettes, alcohol, onions, garlic e.t.c. But when your breath is bad ALL THE TIME.. it becomes a problem –
especially if you are the sensitive type. Not only is it embarrassing, it takes a toll on your confidence…and even worse, could make you a pariah – as most people may avoid talking to you for fear of suffocating from your mouth odour.

When mouth odour becomes unrelenting, it usually is no longer the case of bacteria building up on the back of your tongue or between your teeth. Grabbing a piece of gum or using a mouth spray does not cut it anymore, as it can no longer mask the problem.

It is not advisable to leave things to chance; instead, try some home remedies or visit a dentist to check for underlying medical conditions. If you are interested in the first option, you may want to go for natural options.

Here are 5 some natural remedies for unrelenting mouth odour:

Lemon Nectar
Lemons are great for a lot of things and eliminating strong mouth odour is one them. The lemon fruit contains some acidic content that kills and prevents the spread of bacteria in your mouth.
Also, its strong scent refreshes the mouth, masking the bad odour. The good thing is that lemons are very affordable.
To extract the nectar, all you need to do is cut open the fruit, squeeze it into a small bowl, then stir one tablespoon of the nectar into a cup of water and rinse your mouth with it. You can do this as often as 3 times a day. It will help alleviate your breath issues.

Parsley
Parsley may look like a very tame herb, but it contains chlorophyll, a powerful breath deodorizer with germ-fighting qualities that can help neutralize bad breath. To use parsley as a cure for your bad breath, simply munch on a sprig of parsley, or put parsley leaves through a juicer and sip the juice. Alternatively, you can dip the herb in vinegar and then chew it thoroughly. Whatever method you chose, the parsley refreshes your breath.

Cinnamon
Cinnamon is not just for baking or cooking. You can use it to stop bad breath as well! It contains cinnamic aldehyde, an essential oil, which not only masks bad breath, but also reduces the amount of bacteria in your mouth. It also stunts bacteria growth. You can either use ground cinnamon or cinnamon sticks for this remedy. Boil one teaspoon of cinnamon powder or 1 stick in a cup of water, strain the solution and use it as a mouth rinse to refresh your breath. Use it 2 times a day for optimum effect.

Raw Foods
Some raw foods act as natural toothbrushes and breath cleansers. These raw foods include crunchy fruits and vegetable rich in fiber such as carrots, celery, and apples. They are great for fighting against bad breath, as they can help scrape out the plaque buildup, and trigger an increase in the production of bacteria-fighting saliva inside the mouth- killing mouth odour and keeping breath fresh.
There is even an added bonus of these foods increasing the dose of immune-boosting nutrients when included in your diet.

Salt Water Solution
Every nutritionist or health expert would advise that you hydrate to reduce bad breath. Lack of moisture to produce saliva can catalyze the development of odour-causing bacteria. However, you can go a step further to fight same bacteria with a salt water gargle. Salt- water solution not only introduces moisture to the mouth, the combination of salt and water works together to remove bacteria from your throat and tonsils. Also, it softens the mouth area, loosening and flushing out food particles that may be trapped in certain cervixes in your mouth and causing bad breath. It is preferable to use warm water for this gargle.

Two Teachers Arrested For Taking Pupils' Blood, Fingernails

Two teachers identified as Blessing Omowera and Sola Kalejaye have been arrested by men of the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly using human parts for ritual purpose.

The teachers allegedly collected the fingernails and blood of the pupils of Heritage Nursery and Primary School, Ondo town, Ondo State.

While Omowera works at the nursery and primary school, Kalajaye, is said to be a teacher in a secondary school in the town.

PUNCH gathered that when one of the pupils got home, she informed her father what the teacher did to her in the school, and the parents reported the matter at the Ondo Area Command, Ondo.

The victims are both three-year-old.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the state police command, Mr. Femi Joseph, explained that Omowera called the two pupils and cut their fingernails under the pretence of cleaning them up.

The PPRO also said as the suspect was cutting the finger nails of the pupils, she intentionally cut the hands of the victims to bring out blood. She then cleaned the bloodstained hand with a cloth.

Joseph said, “We were informed that after the suspect (Omowera) had cut the hands of the pupils, she cleaned up the blood with a cloth and took both the blood and fingernails away .

“After she was arrested, she confessed that she was sent by somebody who wanted to use the blood and fingernails for ritual purposes; that was why we arrested the sender (Kalejaye).”

The police spokesman noted that Omowera had already been charged to court, while Kalejaye was still in custody undergoing interrogation.

“He (Kalejaye) too will soon be charged to court,” Joseph said.

The father of one of the pupils, Mr. Ambrose Akinnodi, called on the state government and human rights activists in the country to assist his family in ensuring that justice was done in the matter.

It was gathered that the two pupils had been withdrawn from the school.

Two years of Buhari’s administration: The Bright side, the dark side

When the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a keenly contested party primary in 2014 nominated then Gen Muhammadu Buhari as its flag bearer for the 2015 presidential election, not a few people heaved a sigh of relief that at last the man many consider as incorruptible has a real chance to win the nation’s number one seat and turn things around.

The campaign was massive and the mobilisation of voters across the various political zones of the country was also not a small affair.

The support of the North, where Buhari is believed to have a cult like following was massive, so was the support from the South West part of the country, where its political leaders vowed to do whatever it takes to deliver the former Military Head of State.

When elections eventually came, it was not a surprise that the Daura, Katsina State born politician defeated the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, despite little support from the South East and South South, thereby making history to become the first Nigeria opposition candidate ever to defeat an incumbent President.

The election of President Buhari was to many people a fulfillment of a dream and the celebration of the victory was clear evidence that, the people’s preferred candidate had won.

The victory of Buhari was made much easier by the campaign slogan of the APC, as they vowed to bring change to an already disillusioned people, many of whom were unhappy with the government and many of its policies.

So, when the APC came with the ‘Change Agenda’ with a promise to make a difference in the nation’s economy within the first six months, ensure uninterrupted power supply, ensure refineries are working and new ones are built within a short period of time, the electorates were convinced that this was what they needed at this time.

However, two years down the line, the achievements of the government and how far it has gone in actualising the promises and upholding the hopes of the people is a matter for the people to decide, considering what it has and has not done.

A peep into its performance shows a lot of ups and downs and many are confused about how really to rate the government two years down the line.

The Buhari administration came into office in the heat of the Boko Haram insurgency and the heightened agitation for the release of the Chibok girls abducted by the Boko Haram insurgents from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Bornu State two years earlier, so it was not surprising that in its first few days in office, Buhari ordered the relocation of the Nigerian Military Command Centre to Maiduguri, this it must be stated contributed in no small way to the success in the fight against insurgency.

The President also engaged in some sort of shuttle diplomacy to neighbouring countries, with a view to involving them in the administration’s resolve to push Boko Haram elements out of Nigeria through a Multinational Joint Task Force and totally annihilate them.

In the early days of the administration there was a noticeable improvement in the power sector, which greatly raised the hope of many Nigerians for better days ahead, but this feeling was short lived as things has since returned to how it was in most places.

The President had vowed in the heat of the return of the Niger Delta militancy and vandalisation of oil installations leading to a drastic reduction in the oil production level that he will treat Niger Delta militants as terrorists and deal with them the way Boko Haram insurgents are being dealt with if they refuse to negotiate with the Federal Government, subsequently, whether as a result of the threat or because of the intervention of leaders of the Niger Delta region there is now significant peace in the region, following fruitful discussions with stakeholders in the region and the involvement of the Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in the peace talks in the region.

Another mark of success of the Buhari administration was the level of success the military recorded against the Boko Haram and also the administration’s ability to secure the release of dozens of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls. Three of them had managed to escape on their own; 21 were released last year and another 82 were recently released due to negotiations with the terrorists.

The Chibok girls’ release has enormously lifted the spirits of Nigerians and reduced one of the most enduring pains in the national life since 2014.

The Buhari regime’s anti-corruption campaign has also made a huge impact in the country. Probes have uncovered how trillions of naira was lost in the oil industry and also in the name of weapons purchases. In addition, EFCC made huge discoveries of hidden monies; retrieved assets worth billions from former officials and has initiated the prosecution of many high profile ex-officials, including top military brass and even judges.

The administration’s presidential directive given to ensure the closure of all multiple accounts in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of government, thereby plugging leakages and concentrating all government resources into a Treasury Single Account (TSA) has also been a plus.

While many will want to celebrate the gains so made under this administration, others are quick to point to the many shortcomings of the government, one of it being the fact that it took Buhari eight months to appoint his cabinet, and an additional 14 months for his government to finally unveil its medium-term economic strategy, the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, ERGP.

This is also coupled with the fact that two years into his administration some boards of government agencies dissolved at the inception of the administration are yet to be reconstituted and many of those reconstituted are fraught with controversies and allegations of the government not following due process and legal provision in the appointments.

Another issue that agitated the minds of Nigerians early in his administration is the fact that despite his electoral promise to reduce petrol pump price from the N87 per litre that he met it, President Buhari increased the price to N145 barely months after coming to power.

The denials on the part of the Federal Government of the APC electioneering pledge of paying N5000 to poor, unemployed Nigerian, also created room for distrust of the government, though the government has since redefined the category of people who will qualify for the payment and claim that it has started paying the money in some states.

Another issue that the government has had to contend with on regular basis since assumption of office is the controversy over budget.

The first budget of the Buhari administration worth N6.08trn budget was not passed until after several months following allegations of padding and that crisis claimed many casualties both in the budget office and at the National Assembly.

In August 2016, the Nigerian economy was declared to be in technical recession with many believing that the administration’s poor handling of the economy facilitated such.

The President signed an agreement with the Chinese government to improve Nigeria’s power infrastructure and also agreed to a 50 million Euro (about N11.15 billion) loan with the French government for capacity-building and upgrade of power training facilities. Despite the much celebration of both actions, the effect is yet to be felt in the sector.

The Buhari administration has also been accused of playing double standard in appointment of top officials into key government position, alleging that it has been aimed at favouring a certain part of the country, an allegation that the government has not been able to successfully defend.

There is also the issue of trying to shield its top officials accused of corrupt acts, for example in January this year, President Buhari wrote a letter to the Senate, clearing the now suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal over grass-cutting contract allegations.

Government in the letter defended Lawal and gave reasons why he could not be sacked as demanded by the Senate, but recently he was suspended by the same government, perhaps after more convincing facts emerged and a panel was set up to investigate the allegations.

Also the President defied the Senate on the two consecutive rejections of the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and has so far ignored advise that he be replaced.

The Buhari regime’s anti-corruption campaign has been criticised for placing too much emphasis on spectacular raids and high profile arrests rather than institutional and system reforms that could curb corruption in the first place.

The biggest minus of the last two years, according to political watchers has been economic recession. With the steep fall in government revenues due to a fall in international oil prices, the criminal sabotage of oil facilities by Niger Delta and the alleged squander mania of the Jonathan years, the national economy has experienced several straight quarters of GDP decline, high inflation rate and steep decline in the naira’s value against foreign currencies.

Many states and local governments also piled up arrears of workers’ salaries while in many states and at the federal level, tens of thousands of pensioners went unpaid for months for end.

Another issue that is agitating the minds of the people is the activities of Fulani Herdsmen, who have in the last two years killed many people across the country and destroyed farm lands and despite outcry from many quarters, not much has been achieved by security agencies in apprehending the culprits, making some persons to suggest that they may be emboldened to continue carrying out their dastardly act because they have the backing of their Fulani brother who is the President.

It is unfortunate that in the midst of the major challenges that still face this country, President Buhari suffered bouts of ill health that rendered him mostly unable to exercise his presidential mandate since January this year.

He was away from the country for 49 days in January to early March, did very little when he came back, and has been away from the country again now for nearly a month. In Buhari’s absence the lot fell on Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, who is doing his best, but the administration’s cohesion, long term planning and firmness of purpose are all affected by the uncertainties of this situation.

Speaking on the achievements of the Buhari administration in the last two years, factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Adegoke Savaldor said that so far the government has failed in delivering on its promises.

He said, “So far we hardly see what they are doing on their promises, they promised us that immediately they get there we should give them six months and naira and dollar parity will become one to one, but today naira to dollar is about N500 in the market, the government rate that they claim they are selling nobody can access it and people are now complaining, things are difficult. Look at the security issue everywhere in the country.

“Now, look at our economy, it is dwindling down every day, they say we are out of recession, what is the difference between when we had recession and now that we don’t, a bag of rice is almost N20,000, something we use to buy for N7,000 or N8,000, what is then the difference, electricity, no improvement, there is nothing positive that they can point to.”

However he said that despite that not much has been achieved, that the government has made some successes, but that their failures far outweighs their success, “But, there is no way they cannot have their plus, but when things are not good things are not good, when they are not up to 50 percent you cannot say it is success. Everything has to be measured to expectation. It is absolutely impossible for any administration to sit down and not do anything.

“He might be a very good person and the sympathy is even on his health now, I feel bad when somebody get to this type of position and he start having health issues, any right thinking person should feel for him, so we have to take his job as our job, everybody must stand up and if somebody is doing a bad thing we have to say it, it is like he has donated his life to us, because I can assure you that if not for the stress of this office he might not be this sick, he might have his issues, but it can be manageable, but the pressure and the type of responsibilities he chose to take it is now affecting his health,” Savaldor said.
